In West Bengal, notification for 5th phase of Assembly elections in the State has been issued on Monday. The 5th phase of poll will take place in 38 seats, in some parts of West Midnapore, Purulia, Bankura and Burdhaman districts on 7th of next month. Meanwhile, nomination for 4th phase of elections will be scrutinised on Monday. Altogether 488 nominations were filed for this phase till last day of filing of nomination. Election will take place in 63 seats in Howrah, Hooghly, East Midnapore and some parts of Burdhaman districts on 3rd of May. AIR correspondent reports that campaigning for first phase of election is gaining momentum as few days are left for poll. The first phase of polls will take place in 54 seats covering six north Bengal districts on next Monday.
