In Bihar, notification for the third phase of elections is being issued on Monday. AIR Patna correspondent reports that 48 constituencies spread across six districts of the state will go to the polls in this phase on the 28th of October. The districts are East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan Saran and Vaishali. The last day for filing of nominations for the third phase is the 11th of October and scrutiny will be done the next day and candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till 14th October. 211 candidates have so far filed their nomination papers for the first phase of assembly polls. Today is the last day filing of nomination papers for the first phase of elections. The Janta Dal ( United) has released the third list of 11 candidates today. With this the party has so far cleared the names of 138 candidates. The JD (U) is to contest on 141 assembly seats after making seat sharing agreement with the BJP. Bahujan Samaj Party ( BSP) which is contesting all 243 assembly seats has released its third list of 50 candidates. The CPM has also released the list of 26 candidates.
