In Assam, notification for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls has been issued. Polling for five seats will be held on 7th of next month in the first phase.

These constituencies are Tezpur, Kaliabor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur.

With this, the process of filing nominations gets underway.

Official sources said that 21st March is the last date for filing nominations while scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on the next day.

24th of March is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. Political activities are likely to intensify with polls notification. Most of the political parties have announced their candidates.

In Tripura, notification for the Tripura (West) Lok Sabha constituency for the first phase of election will be issued today.

Candidates can file their nominations till 20th March while scrutiny of nomination forms will be held on 21st March.

Candidates can withdraw their nominations upto 24th March. Over twelve lakh forty six thousand voters will excercise their franchise on 7th of next month in the first phase.

In Bihar, notification for the first phase of Lok Sabha Election was issued on Thursday. Polling for six seats will be held on 10th of next month in the first phase. It will cover Sasaram, Karakat, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jamui.

With the issuance of notification, filing of nomination for these constituencies has also begun. Candidates can file their nominations till 20th March while scrutiny of nomination forms will be held on 21st March. Candidates can withdraw their nominations upto 24th March.
