The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has issued show cause notice to two news channels over the telecast of a video, purportedly showing nurse Bhanwari Devi and former Rajasthan Minister Mahipal Maderna in a compromising position. Official sources from the Ministry said that government has also directed the two Hindi news channels not to repeat the telecast. Sources added that notices have been issued on charges of showing indecent content containing obscenity and not suitable for unrestricted public exhibition. Channels have been given time upto the 14th of this month to file their explanation.
