Notices issued to recover Rs.500 crore tax evasion in executing CWG projects

Many private firms and Government departments have been slapped with notices for recovery of over 500 crore rupees tax allegedly evaded by them, while executing the Commonwealth Games-related projects. Official sources said recovery notices for 505 crore rupees towards value-added tax (VAT) have been issued by the Central Government’s Revenue Department and trade and taxes authorities of the Delhi Government.
