Karnataka assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah today served notices to 11 rebel BJP MLAs under the provisions of the anti-defection law. The notices were served following a complaint by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on anti-party activities. The move was considered as a pressure tactic by the BJP to quell dissidence to save its tottering government.Assembly Secretary S B Patil said the dissident MLAs have been asked to meet the speaker before October 10 by five PM and tender their explanation. Yeddyurappa would seek a confidence vote on Monday as per the instruction from the Governor H R Bhardwaj.The rebels are currently camping in a hotel in Goa.Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa has expressed confidence that he would prove his majority when the trust vote is taken up on the floor of the State Assembly. Speaking after the inauguration of Dasara festival in Mysore today the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the BJP government will successfully complete its five years term. The Chief Minister said the dissident MLAs who were travelling between different cities since the last two days will come back to Bangaluru today.
