Notice given to LS speaker for Jan Lokpal debate

Lok Sabha members Anu Tondon, Jagdambika Pal and Sanjay Nirupam have given notices to the speaker to allow a discussion on Jan Lokpal bill and other documents in the house. Confirming this Congress party sources said that they have proposed discussion to be taken under a rule which does not entail voting.AIR correspondent quoting official sources reports that discussions are on among the senior ministers and leaders from opposition to take a final decision on the nature of the debate. After hectic discussions on Thursday government sources said that the discussion on the issue may be taken up on Friday. Meanwhile Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay has again appealed to Anna Hazare to give up his fast saying the government has move forward.Lok Sabha and the Prime minister had yesterday requested Anna Hazare to end his fast. The BJP, after initial reluctance, announced its support to the Team Anna Lokpal bill. Senior party leader Arun Jaitley after meeting with representatives of Anna Hazare last night said that his party also wants a strong Lokpal bill but it should adhere to the constitution.After a high level meeting at New Delhi last night, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that the dialogue with team Anna will continue. Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid was optimistic about Anna Hazare breaking his fast today. He said that with the approval of Parliament the recommendations will be sent to Parliamentary Standing Committee for its consideration so that a strong Lokpal bill is in place with consensus.Meanwhile, Anna Hazare's fast entered the 11th day on Friday. His health condition is stable. Dr. Naresh Trehan, who is monitoring his health, informed this morning that Anna has lost about seven kgs. of weight.
