He was 88 and his last rites were conducted at Sion crematorium.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Sarhadi began his career writing Urdu short stories and entered Bollywood via Yash Chopra's 1976 &quot;Kabhi Kabhie&quot;, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Raakhee.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The writer collaborated with Chopra to pen the screenplay in acclaimed films like &quot;Silsila&quot; and Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor starrer &quot;Chandni&quot;, for which he wrote the dialogues.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In 1982, Sarhadi turned director with &quot;Bazaar&quot;, starring Supriya Pathak Shah, Farooq Shaikh, Smita Patil and Naseeruddin Shah.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Sarhadi is also credited with writing dialogues for superstar Shah Rukh Khan''s debut &quot;Deewana'' in 1992 and Hrithik Roshan's debut &quot;Kaho Na Pyaar Hai&quot;.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mourning the loss, actor Hrithik Roshan said he would be forever indebted to Sarhadi for the dialogues of his debut film.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi recalled Sarhadi as a simple man who considered the people around him as his inspiration. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui said Sarhadi's rhythmic style writing and poetic style direction has inspired many.</span>
