Noted Vedic scholar Acharya Narendra Bhushan dies

Noted Vedic scholar Acharya Narendra Bhushan died in a private hospital in Kochi this morning. He was 73. He was ailing for some time due to intestinal problems and was hospitalised for the past two weeks. A scholar, with profound knowledge of both Sanskrit and Malayalam, Acharya Narendra Bhushan has over 20 books to his credit and published several articles relating to Hindu philosophy. His works include Chathurvedasamhitha, Paralokavum Punarjanmavum, Ayodhyayile Raman among others. He translated several works from Sanskrit and other languages to Malayalam and was among the panel of scholars entrusted with the preparation of History of Vedic Literature, brought out by the Kerala Sahitya Academy.Acharya Narendra Bhushan was the recipient of Arya Samaj Centenary Puraskar, Maharshi Dayanand Puraskar, Vedopadesha Puraskar and the Amritha Keerthi Puraskaram. The funeral will take place this evening at the Maharshi Dayanand Vaidika Gurukulam founded by him at Vaikom in Kottayam district.
