Political satirist and founder editor of Thuglak magazine, Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy popularly known as Cho Ramaswamy passed away due to cardiac arrest in a Chennai hospital early this morning. A former BJP Rajya Sabha member Ramaswamy was ailing for some time and was in the hospital. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter. Eighty-two year old journalist was an advisor to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Cho Ramaswamy. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Cho Ramaswamy was a multidimensional personality, towering intellectual, great nationalist and fearless voice, who was respected and admired. Expressing grief on his demise, Mr Modi condoled to his family and countless readers of Thuglak. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has also condoled the demise of Cho Ramaswamy. In a tweet, Mr Jaitley said, he was an exceptional political analyst and nationalist writer. <br/><br/>Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Shamra will represent the Centre to pay homage to Cho Ramaswamy. The Minister described Ramaswamy as a great nationalist who had a fearless voice.
