Noted Historian R S Sharma died at Patna. 92 years old Sharma was the first Chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. It was during his tenure that the community of historians was split between traditionalist and Marxists. He has authored more than 110 books and a large number of monographs. Expressing grief over death of Historian Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the last rites of R S Sharma would be performed with state honours.
