Noted Hindustani singer Pandit Madhava Gudi passed away at Dharwad this morning due to illness. 69 year old Madhava Gudi was a disciple of late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. He had received several awards like Rajyotsava Prashasti, Sangita Nritya Academy award, Maharashtra”s Yhaswanta Rao Chowhan award for his contribution made to the world of music. He was an A Grade Artist with Akashavaani and mesmerised the audience with his musical acumen. Pandit Madhava Gudi used to accompany Late Bhimsen Joshi in India and abroad during various music festivals. He was instrumental in perpetuation of Daasavaani programme launched by Late Bhimsen Joshi. The president of Gangubai Hanagal music foundation Manoj Hanagal has expressed shock over the sudden demise of Pandit Madhava Gudi.
