Noted Bengali Author Sunil Gangopadhyay died in Kolkata this morning following cardiac arrest. He was 78. Sunil Gangopadhyay was the President of the Sahitya Academy. He was also Shariff of Kolkata in 2002. He wrote about 200 books. His novel 'Prothan Alo', 'Sai Samay' acclaimed appreciation in the literary circle. He got various awards for his contribution in the field of Bengali literature which includes Sahitya Academy, Saraswat Samman and Anando Purushkaar. He worked in Bengali Literary Magazine 'Desh' for several years. The body of Sunil Ganguly will be cremated tomorrow.
