In Kerala, noted Ayurvedic physician and Sanskrit scholar Vaidyabhooshanam Raghavan Thirumulpadu died at Chalakkudy in Thrissur district on Sunday morning. He was 90. An expert in traditional ayurvedic treatment, Vaidyabhooshanam Raghavan Thirumulpadu served as a faculty member in Kerala and Calicut Universities and was a member of Board of Studies in Calicut and Mahatma Gandhi Universities. He also served as a Syndicate Member of the Sanskrit University at Kalady.An adamant Gandhian, Raghavan Thirumulpadu has written several articles on Ayurveda, and has authored several books on the subject. His important works include Isavaum Mahatmavum, Prakrithichikitsa, Ashtangadarshanam and Ayurvedaparichayam among others. He has translated Thirukkural, Bhagavad Gita into Malayalam.
