Noted actor of yesteryears, M K Kamalam, heroine of the first Malayalam talkie "Balan" died in Kottayam last night. She was 86. She was ailing for sometime and was admitted to the Kottayam Medical College hospital three weeks ago, where she breathed her last. <br/> <br/>Besides "Balan", Kamalam had acted in two other films, "Bhootharayar" and "Shayanam". She had also acted in a number of plays and made a mark as a Kadhaprasangam artiste. The cremation will take place this afternoon at Vaikom with full state honours.<br/>
