Even as many authors are returning their Sahitya Akademi Awards over Dadri lynching incident and the rising intolerance, Culture Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma said it is not right to form a group on basis of ideology just for the purpose of protest. <br/><br/>Talking to a private TV channel, Dr. Sharma said to protest against killing is right, but it should not be done on the basis of ideology. He said authors should write to the government or the Prime Minister if they have any complaints. He said the resignation is not the proper way to protest. The Minister also asserted that there is no threat to freedom of speech and expression in the country.<br/><br/>The protest started last week after noted litterateur, Nayantara Sehgal, niece of first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, returned her award to protest reported increase in the incidents of intolerance towards right to dissent in the country. She was followed by many authors.
