Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda today informed the Rajya Sabha that the Government has not restarted consultation with any political party or other stake-holders on the issue of providing 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and the state legislatures. He said it has been the endeavor of the government to provide for such a reservation.<br/><br/>However, the issue involved needs careful consideration on the basis of consensus among all political parties before a Bill for amendment in the Constitution is brought before Parliament. This information was given in a written reply.
