In Odisha, a day after Cyclone Roanu caused heavy rains, the Norwester caused extensive damage to public properties in several parts of the state last evening. Reports said, several trees were uprooted in Bhubaneswar and power went out in some areas due to snapping of power lines. In Sambalpur, normal life was completely disrupted as a sand storm accompanied by heavy rains lashed the city.Meanwhile, after a brief lull, several parts of western Odisha again came under the grip of heat wave. Mercury again shot up crossing the 40-degree Celsius mark at several places.Bhawanipatna was the hottest place with a maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius. The Met Office has said, severe heat wave conditions will prevail across the state for the next few days.
