The Northern Zonal Council discussed and deliberated upon 18 issues including sub issues among the member states in the 28th meeting of the council chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at Chandigarh today.<br/><br/>Giving this information in a press conference at Chandigarh Punjab Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh and Secretary at Inter- state Council secretariat Ms Sanjeevani Kutti said that the issues which were discussed during the meeting were Need for fiscal and infrastructural harmony in Northern States, joit efforts for processing and export of fruits, vegetables and flowers, sharing of water of rivers and hydro power, pollution control, setting up of Common Effluent Treatment plants , treatment, storage and disposal facility for hazardous waste, contamination of water in canals of Rajasthan off taking from Harike Barrage and setting up of mini hydel projects on Bhakra main line canal at 27 sites with total 63.75 MW power capacity in Punjab.<br/><br/>Ms Kutti said that out of 18 issues 7 were resolved in the meeting. She said that Union Ministry of water resources will convene a meeting of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan to discuss the water sharing issue and states are agreed upon it.<br/><br/>Punjab Chief Secretary said that Union Home Minister has advised all the Chief Ministers , Ministers and Chief Secretaries that students and youth of Kashmir wherever they are in the country, should be treated nicely and decently and provided comfortable environment,<br/>The meeting was attended by Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator V P Singh Badnore, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar lal, Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Nirmal Singh, Water Resources Minister of Rajasthan Dr Ram partap, Lt Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal Minister of National Capital territory of Delhi Mr Imrann Husain, other ministers and senior officers.
