Northern parts of India continue to reel under severe heat

11 people have died due to the heat wave in Maharashtra as normal life has been affected due to severe heat wave prevailing in several parts of the country.<br/><br/>In Maharashtra, among the 11 dead, five are from Vidharbha, four from Khandesh and two are from Marathwarah. In Vidharbha the temperature is hovering above 40 degree celsius.<br/><br/>In Gujarat, heat wave conditions will continue for another couple of days. According to the weather department, the maximum temperature will remain around 44 degree Celsius in many parts of the State during the next two days. Ahmedabad city had recorded maximum temperature 44.7 degree Celsius on Sunday afternoon.<br/><br/>AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that four pilgrims were died due to extreme heat wave conditions at Jain Pilgrimage Palitana in Bhavnagar district.<br/><br/>On Sunday, incidents of road accidents also increased due to heat wave conditions. About 24 people have been killed in different road accidents in the State during the past 24 hours.<br/><br/>In Rajasthan, Normal life has been affected due to severe heat wave. In Sriganganagar a maximum temperature was 48 degree Celsius was recorded on Sunday. The temperature is on the rise at most of the places since on Monday morning. 43 degree Celsius was recorded in Churu, Barmer, Kota and Sriganganagar. AIR Jaipur correspondent reports that power cut and problem of drinking water have doubled the impact of heat.<br/><br/>In Uttar Pradesh, the extreme heat conditions prevail even as the clouds have intensified in some of the eastern districts. The day’s maximum temperature is 1 to 3 degrees above normal. AIR correspondent reports, that the met office has predicted rain or thunderstorm during next 24 hours.<br/><br/>The people are experiencing worst ever heat throughout the state. The sky is cloudy in many places including Gorakhpur and Basti but the people are facing difficulty due to increased humidity.<br/><br/>Gorakhpur recorded a temperature of 31 degrees at 8:30 on Monday morning while it was 33.2 in Varanasi and 37.6 degrees in Allahabad.<br/><br/>The power crisis continues with heavy rostering. The met office has however, predicted light showers with storm very soon.<br/><br/>Like other parts of Northern India, Jammu Division of J&K State is also in the grip of severe heat wave with the mercury touching 42 Degree Celsius which has made life of the people of Jammu very miserable.<br/><br/>People of Jammu are facing hot summer these days which is forcing them to remain indoors for most of the day.<br/><br/>Markets are wearing a deserted look during the day time as people throng to markets only in the evenings. School going children are also facing numerous problems due to scorching heat.<br/>
