Most parts of northern India continue to reel under the hot and humid conditions with the mercury hovering around the 45 degree mark at many places.<br/> <br/>The national capital continues to sizzle under the intense heat wave as the maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was five degrees above normal at 44.3 degrees. <br/> <br/>The Met department predicts partly cloudy sky today with the mercury expected to touch a high of 43 degrees. <br/> <br/>The maximum humidity registered in the morning was 53 percent. High humidity levels have only added to the woes of the people. <br/> <br/>In Uttar Pradesh, the people have felt relief from scorching heat as light to medium rainfall lashed several districts of eastern UP Wednesday morning. High velocity wind last evening uprooted many trees and electric poles in Gorakhpur disrupting road traffic and normal life. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent quoting met office sources reports that Gorakhpur has recorded 2 centimetres of rain since Wednesday morning. There is dense cloud in Gorakhpur and Basti divisions. In rest of the state, the mercury is still high and people are facing tormenting heat. <br/> <br/>The day’s maximum temperature ranged between 39 to 46 degrees celsius during past 24 hours. The met department has predicted dust storm at several places during next 24 hours. <br/>
