North Korea has fired a missile eastwards from its capital, Pyongyang, towards Japan. <br/><br/>South Korea's military said, North Korea fired the missile from the Sunan district in its capital. It said, South Korea and the US are analysing the details of the launch. <br/><br/>Japan has said that the missile likely passed over its territory and has warned residents to take shelter. <br/><br/>Its J-Alert system said, today's missile flew over Hokkaido in north towards the Pacific Ocean and it came down around 2,000 kilometres east of Hokkaido. <br/><br/>Seoul's Defence Ministry said the missile probably travelled around 3,700 kilometres and reached a maximum altitude of 770 kilometres, which is both higher and further than the previous device. <br/>'<br/>Last month, North Korea fired a missile over Japan in what Tokyo called an unprecedented threat" to the country. <br/><br/>The missile launch comes just days after new sanctions were imposed on North Korea by the United Nations because of its weapons testing.<br/><br/><br/><br/>
