North Korea has agreed to open dialogue with neighbouring South Korea for the first time in more than two years. <br/><br/>South Korea's Unification Ministry confirmed in Seoul today that the North KOrean government has notified that it will send delegates to the high level talks. <br/><br/>The meeting will be held on Tuesday at the border village of Panmunjom, inside the demilitarised zone (DMZ). <br/><br/>Quoting Unification Ministry spokesman, Baik Tae-hyun, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said the meeting will focus on improving relations between the two countries and North Korea's potential participation in next month's Winter Olympics, due to be held in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang. <br/><br/>The announcement of diplomatic talks came just hours after the US and South Korea agreed to suspend military exercises off the peninsula until after the Winter Games.
