Cold wave sweeping hills of Himachal Pradesh continued unabated as higher reaches of the state received fresh snowfall while mid and lower hills experienced widespread rain. MeT official said in Shimla that the higher reaches of the state were lashed by snow with Rohtang Pass receiving 60 cm of snow on Friday. Famous tourist destinations of Manali, Kufri and Narkanda received snowflakes. In Jammu and Kashmir, snowfall and rain continued for the third consecutive day on Friday. Higher reaches of Kashmir have been receiving intermittent snowfall. Security forces have intensified vigilance along India-Pakistan border in the state to check intrusion of militants in the prevailing foggy conditions. Dense fog continued to disrupt train services in northern part of the country. Over two dozen Delhi bound trains are running late. Northern Railway officials say due to late arrival of trains, departure of a number of trains have been rescheduled.
