Biting cold wave and dense fog on Thursday descended over northern India including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab Haryana,Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir putting life out of gear.
In National Capital, Delhiites witnessed dense fog in some parts of the city and its adjoining areas today in morning. Air, road and rail traffic was disrupted due to the poor visibility. Director-in-charge of the Meteorological office at the IGI Airport R K Jenamani told AIR that more than 15 flights were delayed in the morning due to dense fog in early hours at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
According to the Northern Railway due to the fog over 3 dozen trains are reported to be running late by several hours.Due to late arrivial of trains at railway stations in the capital the departure times of some trains have also been rescheduled .
The minimum temperature was today recorded at 8.6 degree celsius, two degrees above normal, while the maximum temperature settled at 19.3, a degree below normal. The Weatherman has predicted dense fog in the morning tomorrow and partly cloudy sky with possibilities of light rain in next 24 hours.
