North India continues to reel under heat wave

North India continued to sizzle under a severe heat wave today even as some parts received respite due to overnight rains.

The capital Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 42.3 degrees celsius and a minimum of 31.2 degrees celsius. Humidity was 53.25 per cent.

Rajasthan remained in the grip of a searing heat wave with Churu at 43.2 degrees. The maximum day temperature in SriGanganagar settled at 41.4 degrees celsius.

Punjab and Haryana, however, got some respite as several areas in the two states were drenched by widespread rains overnight.

While Chandigarh received 2.4 mm of rains, Amritsar got by 1.4 mm.

Bhiwani registered the highest temperature with a high of 43.2 degrees celsius. While Rohtak had a high of 42.6 degrees celsius.
