North India continues to reel under cold wave

Biting cold conditions continue to sweep northern India. Narnaul in Haryana reeled at a minimum temperature of 3.2 degrees Celsius. According to the Met department the minimum at Narnaul in Haryana settled four notches below normal range. Hisar also braved the chill at a low of 4.6 deg C, down two notches.Chandigarh also braved a cold night at 5.8 degree Cecius, one below normal. In Punjab, Amritsar was the coldest at 4.5 degree Cecius. Fog reduced visibility early this morning at some places, including Karnal and Rohtak in Haryana and Amritsar and Ludhiana in Punjab. The Weatherman said that no immediate relief from the cold wave conditions can be expected during the next two days in the region.A misty and chilly morning greeted Delhiites today as the minimum fell below seven degree Celsius. According to a senior MeT official the minimum was recorded at 6.8 degree Celsius, the same as yesterday. The weatherman has predicted similar conditions for tomorrow with the temperature oscillating between seven and 22 degree Celsius. The weather office has advised the people to get extra woollens as it has predicted a high probability of Delhi witnessing below normal temperatures this month but there are no chances of snowfall.
