North India continues to be in grip of blistering heat

North India remained in the grip of blistering heat threw normal life out of gear .<br/><br/>Delhi recorded highest temperature in April in last 52 years. It rose to 43.7 degress Celsius which is 8 degrees above normal. The conditions are likely to continue for two more days. According to MET office the rise in temperature is unprecedented. Prior to this 43.6 degrees Celsius was recorded on 27th of April in 1958. The weather office says that average maximum temperature for the month of April is 36.2 degrees Celsius and minimum 21.5 degrees Celsius.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, reports of power cuts and erratic water supply have come in from different parts of Metropolitan city. Mercury settled at 29.6 deg C, highest in the past over a decade, in the 'Queen of Hills' Shimla.<br/><br/>Heat wave continued unabated in the desert state of Rajasthan with most of the places reeling at over 40 deg C.<br/><br/>In Punjab, Patiala was the hottest with 44.6 deg C . In neighboring Haryana, intense heat continued to sweep the state with Hisar recording the highest temperature at 45.8 deg C, the hottest ever in 52 years.
