North eastern states witnessing rise in mercury

Most of the North eastern states are witnessing rise in mercury and reeling under heat condition during daytimes in the pre monsoon period. Guwahati metrological department claims that some of the states in the region to have received heavy rainfall while others scanty.<br/><br/>However, metrology sources indicate that due to cyclonic circulation in Bihar and its adjoining areas as well as trough in the atmosphere whether condition in the north eastern states differs from its normalcy.<br/><br/>According to metrology department monsoon in north eastern states is expected to arrive by 1st week of next month. Talking to AIR the director of Guwahati metrology department Mr. H Pathak today said monsoon was suppose to reach Indian state Kerala by 1st week of March is delayed. He said monsoon is expected for north eastern states in right time.<br/><br/>The director of Guwahati metrology department said rainfall in hill areas of north east is seen to have scanty in few states with rise in mercury while other states received plenty of it.<br/><br/>Despite the fact some states also received rainfall yesterday ranging from maximum 8 centimetres and minimum 1 to 2 millimeters claims the metrology department.<br/><br/>Today Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh received 84.8 millimetres rain fall followed by Tinsukia in Assam whereas Nagaland Mizoram and Manipur are reported to have received less rainfall.<br/><br/>Refuting claims on decreasing rain fall in the World famous Cherrapunji, the Guwahati Met department said Cherrapunjee received 43.8 millimeters rain today and there is no dearth of rain on the wettest soil in the world.
