The Members of Parliament of the North East region, cutting across the Party lines, today urged the Union Home Ministry to start political dialogue with all the insurgents group operating in the North Eastern States without further delay for ensuring a lasting peace in the region.<br/><br/>The first North Eastern MPs Forum Summit held in Gangtok in Sikkim today decided to submit a proposal to both the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister during the coming Budget session of the Parliament.<br/><br/>The Forum also urged the Centre to confer Bharat Ratna upon the Noted Singer and Musician from Assam Mr Bhupen Hazarika for his outstanding contribution in the field of music.<br/><br/>Briefing newspersons about the resolutions adopted at the day long Summit, the Chairman of the Forum and former CM of Arunachal Pradesh Mr Mukut Mithi told that the Forum urged the Centre to ensure that the only road connectivity available to Sikkim the NH31A and other important road,rail and water links of the NE region should remain open for a hassle free traffic round the clock.<br/><br/>He told that the Forum resolved to convert the entire NE region into a totally Organic one and to reject out rightly all forms of genetically modified food items.
