The North-East Festival of Plays has been started at the state capital ImphaI this evening. The Festival is jointly organized by the Banian Repertory Theatre, Imphal and State Art and Culture Department.<br/><br/>Opening the five-day festival, State Art and Culture Commissioner Kangjam Radhakumar said that Manipuri theatre is more internationally acclaimed than Manipuri literature. He further said that all stakeholders of Manipuri theatre need to make a concerted effort to keep up its present status.<br/><br/>Altogether five theatre troupes including one troupe from Assam are participating in the festival.
