Normal monsoon rainfall this season: IMD

The country will receive normal Monsoon rainfall this season. The India Meteorological Department announced in New Delhi yesterday that rainfall during the June-September south-west monsoon season is expected to be 98 per cent of the Long Period Average. <br/><br/>The forecast for normal rain this season comes after the country witnessed one of the worst droughts last year. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, the Director General of Meteorological Department, Mr. Ajit Tyagi said that it is a good forecast. <br/><br/>He said that the Met Department will come up with a mid-season forecast on 30th July. <br/><br/>
