In Kerala, monsoon is likely to become active from Tuesday. Meteorological department officials in Thiruvananthapuram said that six northern districts Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad and Thrissur received normal rainfall with Kasaragod recording the maximum rainfall of 88 millimetre. Monsoon was weak in the other 8 districts, with the capital Thiruvananthapuram recording the least rainfall. However, Met officials say monsoon is expected to become normal in the coming days.
