In Manipur, normal life has been partially affected by the 24-hour general strike called by the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) starting from 5 PM yesterday. The outlawed group called for the general strike in protest against the contradictory statements on the arrest of the proscribed United National Liberation Front Chairman, Rajkumar Meghen.Markets, shops and other business establishments and educational institutions remained closed in the 4 valley districts. Passenger vehicles were off the road. The five hill districts were not affected. There is no report of untoward incident during the general strike.
