In Nepal, normal life in different parts of the country remained paralyzed today following a day long nation wide bandh called by the Unified CPN (Maoist) in protest against killing of four people in police firing following a clash between the landless squatters and the security forces in Kailali district. One policeman was also killed in the clash. The incident occurred after the security personnel tried to evict landless squatters from Dudhejhari forest in Baliya village in western Nepal. According to police sources, Maoists activists burnt down few vehicles and damaged dozens of other vehicles for violating the bandh call at different places.
