Normal life affects during Darjeeling bandh

In West Bengal, normal life has been affected following 96 hours bandh called by Gorkha Janamukti Morcha in three hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling from Monday morning. The bandh has been called by the GJM to press its demand for creation of separate state of Gorkhaland comprising Darjeeling hill, Terai and parts of Dooars in Jalapaiguri. The GJM Assistant Secretary, Mr. Binoy Tamang told media persons that essential services have been exempted from the bandh preview. Besides, GJM has also set up assistance booths at various parts of Darjeeling hills to help stranded tourists and patients. Transport facilities have also been managed by the GJM for such people.<br/>
