Bandh is underway across Telengana State today in protest against passage of AP Reorganisation Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha.

The bandh call given by the Left parties and the Telangnana Joint Action Committee, TJAC, has affected normal life as public transport services were disrupted by agitators at several places in the region. Leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party stayed away from the agitation throughout the State.

Opposing the Bill that paves the way for merger of seven mandals of Khammam district in Telangana with Andhra Pradesh for construction of Polavarm project, leaders of the Left parties and activists of TJAC held dharnas before Bus depots in all Telangana districts including Hyderabad.

Schools and business establishments also remained closed at several places. The Osmania University postponed Post Graduation counselling on account of the bandh.

Leaders from ruling TRS and Congress also took part in agitations in support of the bandh.
