Normal life affected in naxal hit areas

<br/>In West Bengal, the nation-wide bandh called by the Maoists has evoked response in some pockets. Normal life has been affected at Maoist-infested Belpahri, Salboni, Lalgarh, Jhargram in West Midnapore, Ranibadh, Sarenga, Barikul in Bankura and Bandwan in Purulia districts. Most of the shops and estalishments are closed in the Jungle Mahal. Private transports are off the road. However, train services are normal. According to official sources, no unotward incident has so far been reported. AIR Kolkata Correspondent Arijit Chakraborty reports that security measures have been beefed up at Jungle Mahal in view of the strike called by the ultras. Camps of the joint forces engaged to tackle Maoists and police stations at Maoist-infested areas have been alerted. Strong vigils are also being maintained along train tracks and interstate border areas to avert any untoward incident. The South-Eastern Railways have cancelled night service trains between Kharagpur to Tatanagar and Kharagpur to Adra sections till tomorrow. A number of trains have also been canclled or diverted. <br/>
