In Andhra Pradesh, normal life in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad has been severely affected today due to the bandh demanding separate Statehood for Telegana. The bandh has been peaceful so far and tight security arrangements are in place. Public transport services have been disrupted as road transport Corporation buses are off the roads. MMTS local trains have also been cancelled till afternoon. Shops and business establishments remain closed; petrol pumps at many places have also been shutdown. AIR correspondent reports, the Pro-Telangana agitators are holding protest demonstrations at several places in the twin cities. In stray incidents, the police have taken agitators including political leaders into custody as they have been obstructing the mobility of common people. Meanwhile, security at important places and offices has been beefed up by deployment of central security and special police forces. Rapid Action Forces have also been kept ready at all important places in the city.
