In West Bengal, the normal was affected in three hill sub divisions of Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalimpong of Darjeeling district for the second day today following indefinite bandh call given by the Gorkha Jana Mukti Morcha since yesterday. The bandh call was given demanding about the whereabouts of Nicol Tamang, alleged to be one of the prime accused in the murder of Gorkha League leader late Madan Tamang on 21st May this year. Nicol Tamang was arrested on 15th August and was under State CID investigation, from where he managed to escape yesterday morning. Meanwhile the police have intensified the search for the accused and Indo Nepal border has also been sealed. Morcha sources said the party had called a central Committee meeting today to chalk out future programme over the issue.
