Non-proliferation and CTBT won’t affect Indo US Nuclear Deal

The United States on Saturday said India's position on non-proliferation and CTBT will not impact the nuclear deal between the two countries and expressed hope to move forward with the landmark agreement. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Robert Blake said the resolution that was passed unanimously by the Security Council does not have any bearing on Indo-U.S. civil nuclear cooperation.<br/><br/> Blake was briefing journalists after a bilateral meeting between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and External Affairs Minister S M Krishna in New York.He said that discussion between Mr.Krishna and Hillary Clinton also included cooperation between India and the US on higher education, referring to Indian Lok Sabha bill that will enable more foreign participation in the higher education sector.<br/><br/>During the meeting, Hillary hoped that the upcoming meeting between the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan would lead to relations between the two countries to a more positive footing.
