Non-conventional energy generation to be double in next 10 yrs

The Energy generation from non-conventional sources will double in the next ten years from the present level of 14,000 Megawatt. This was stated by Mr. Deepak Gupta, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy while inaugurating an International Conference on Indian Pulp and Paper Industry in New Delhi on Friday. He said the energy generation from non-conventional sources is growing at the rate of 9 percent per year. Mr. Gupta said that 20,000 Megawatt of power is expected to be generated through solar energy by the year 2022.
