Non-Congress & non-BJP parties to hold meet in New Delhi today to form new political alternative

Twelve non-Congress and non-BJP parties will hold a meeting in New Delhi today to form a new political alternative for the next general elections. These parties include Left, JD(U), BJD, AIADMK, JD(S), Samajwadi Party and Asom Gana Parishad.

During the meeting, the parties are likely to come out with a broad outline of political positions and policies against Congress and BJP. It will also decide on how to strengthen efforts of the constituent political parties in the elections in their respective states.

JD(U) Chief Sharad Yadav, CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat, CPI leaders AB Bardhan, JD(S) Chief HD Devegoda, SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav, JVM chief Babulal Marandi and AGP's Prafulla Mahanta are expected to attend the meet.
