In Uttar Pradesh, filing of nominations for the first phase of Assembly elections covering 55 seats in 10 districts begins today with the issuance of poll notification. Sitapur, Barabanki, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Baharaich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Siddharth Nagar and Basti districts will be covered in this phase. Polling for the first phase would be held on February 8.
