Nomination process for elections in MP starts today

In Madhya Pradesh, the nomination process for elections of 268 local bodies across the state starts on Thursday. The last date of filing of nominations is 26th November. AIR correspondent reports that about eighty five lacs voters in forty four districts will exercise their franchise in this election.<br/> <br/>The elections are being held in 13 Municipal Corporations including Bhopal, Indore , Jabalpur and Gwalior , 64 Municipal Councils and 191 Nagar Panchayats. Voting will take place in two phases on 11th and 14th December. For the first time in the state, fifty percent seats including mayoral posts have been reserved for the women in the local bodies. The election results will reflect the mood of urban voters in the state. It will be for the third time in last one year in the state that political parties will try their luck in the electoral battle field.<br/>
