Nomadland wins best picture award at Oscars; Anthony Hopkins wins best actor award and Frances McDormand wins award for best actress

Chloé Zhao’s ‘Nomadland’ has won best picture at the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) award today. China-born Zhao has become the first woman of color to win best director and a historically diverse group of winners took home awards.&nbsp; Zhao is also only the second woman in Oscar history to win the Academy award.<br />”<br />”In the biggest surprise of a socially distanced Oscar ceremony held during the pandemic, best actor went to Anthony Hopkins for his performance in the dementia drama ‘The Father.’Daniel Kaluuya won best supporting actor for ‘Judas and the Black Messiah.'<br />”<br />”Frances McDormand won best actress for her role in Nomadland, while veteran South Korean actress Yuh-Jung Youn won best supporting actress for Minari.<br />”<br />”Denmark's Another Round was awarded Best International Feature Film.<br />”<br />”Hairstylists Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson of ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ became the first Black woman to win in makeup and hairstyling.
