Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee lauds the govt's Aayushman Bharat scheme

<span style="color: #222222;">Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee today lauded the government's Aayushman Bharat scheme, saying it is much needed to ensure that the entire family is not crippled when one among them falls ill. Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prof Banerjee said there is a need to find ways so that people do not lose all their assets when somebody in the family gets sick. He said the Aayushman Bharat scheme serves a very important gap in the economic structure. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Talking about his meeting with Mr Modi, Prof Banerjee said, the Prime Minister explained how he is trying to reform the bureaucracy to make it more responsive. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The Prime Minister said he had an excellent meeting with Prof Banerjee. Mr Modi said they had a healthy and extensive interaction on various subjects. He said the Nobel laureate's passion towards human empowerment is clearly visible. Wishing him best for his future endeavours, Mr Modi said, India is proud of his accomplishments.</span><br />
