In Assam, no untoward incident has been reported in Kokrajhar district in the last 24 hours. State Law and Order IGP, L R Bishnoi said that situation is tense but under control as strict vigil is being maintained. District administration relaxed curfew for 5 hours today from 4 to 9 pm. Police arrested 250 miscreants for indulging in violence.Meanwhile, indefinite Kokrajhar bandh called by Bodoland People's Front, BPF, the coalition partner of ruling Congress, continues since yesterday. The party declared the bandh protesting the arrest of party MLA Pradeep Kumar Brahma for his alleged involvement in ethnic clashes.The security has also been intensified in Chirang district after a person was injured in an attack by unidentified miscreants.In another development, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister R. Ashoka and the state's DGP will visit Assam tomorrow to urge the people to return to their places of works or studies. Around 15 thousand people have returned home from other states including Karnataka due to the rumours.
