Union Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal has asked for concerted effort to save democracy from terrorism. Speaking at a function in Jalandahar on Sunday, Sibal said the Central Government had taken number of steps to curb terrorism but did not get any support from the Opposition parties.
During the function, Sibal along with Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, Leader of the Opposition in Vidhan Sabha Sunil Jakhar and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, distributed about Rs 25-lakh financial assistance amongst the 125 terrorism-affected families from Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir along with some household items.
