Home Minister says that there are no specific reports that some north east outfits have stepped up their activities after getting aid from China. Replying supplementaries in the Rajya Sabha today, Mr. P. Chidambaram said that government is aware that some insurgent groups procure arms, ammunition and explosives and established camps in the territories of some neighbouring countries.Mr. Chidambaram said these concerns are being shared at various bilateral fora. He added that border guarding forces and state governments have been taking action against such outfits from time to time. Mr. Chidambaram said due to porous border militants some times sneak in the Indian territory along with the arms though the vigil at the border has been increased. He informed the members that it is not possible to fence the border on this side due to difficult terrain. Mr. Chidambaram said much more needs to be done for the border area development of the country.Mr. Chidambaram said that the Manipur Chief Minister has invited UNC outfit for talks. The outfit has blocked traffic on NH-39 linking Manipur with the rest of the country. The Home Minister said the government is ready to provide security to even private truck convoys to carry essential items to that state.
